Seems the stock one on my unlocked UK Milestone with Android2.1 have Google Maps 4.1 preinstalled.

Could I just install one from market, will it update/overwrite the pre-installed(Good), or install a different version and icon(Ok), or break something(Bad)?

Google maps 4.1 sounds very old, no surprise that I found it barely usable.
