It is interesting that SE didn't re-target the X10 phones for Froyo. It would have made the phone much more appealing - to me anyway. Their spec is generally pretty good.

Just tried updating my cousin's x10 mini pro. Still says latest software already installed.

I'll try every day for the next few days and advise accordingly if successful!

It gives an option to update over wifi, which is what I tried I'm guessing it'll only happen OTA?

I get the feeling that Sony Ericsson just doesn't get Android.   Same with Samsung actually but at least they have a decent community to pick up the pieces (at least for their flagship).

I was told that people who had problems updating the phone OTA should try plugging to your PC:

"Plug the phone in, swipe the top menu down on the phone and mount it. The phone will be recognised by PC Companion and will then state that there is an update to run."

No offence to SE, but I am more interested in what the folks at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835308 are doing.

They have got stock Froyo running already and only a few things need to be fixed up.

I have no faith in SE software, and the ugly and slow UI they put on top of Android.

Lots missing in that ROM, and still far from being a daily driver so to speak.

Updated successfully to official 2.1. The SE UI still sucks but at least its fully functional.

Also updated to 2.1, but mobile data isn't working... wifi is fine. Any ideas?

Should have looked more carefully before posting... to answer my own question there is a Sony Ericsson menu under settings that allows you to download the Internet and MMS settings, I would have expected the official update to just work, but I had to take the extra step.

All go now.
