What's the coolest live wallpaper you've ever found for Android? I bet it can't match this Hamster powered clock! Yes, I said a hamster powered clock. The live wallpaper is a clock and it's not just for show. It actually does tell the time. It's mechanical in look but is powered by a very lazy hamster. Story: The hamster's name is Timester and he's big, fat and lazy. So he decides to do something about it to get fit by offering to run your clock. When he gets tired he sleeps, but don't panic he will wake up and start running again.

Timester is now live on the market but the developers are not stopping there. They're constantly working to improve it and add new features. The developers forum thread can be found here. The website for Timester is www.timester.info.

Just tried it on the Vodafone 845 and it doesn't display properly, it's off centered the animations overlap, everything is a mess :(

Which makes me sad as the hamster is pretty cute.

The Mario live wallpaper is entertaining. I also quite like the starfield one which looks like warp speed in startrek.

I was chatting with the developer from Romania and he said he's thinking of doing up a kiwi (instead of the hamster) for a New Zealand version. I think that would be pretty damn cool. Thoughts?

"Te rugam frumos sa ne animezi un Kiwi pt versiunea locala. Si ar fi extraordinar daca ai putea sa il adaptezi pentru un ecran mic de 240 x 320 pixeli".

I'm one of the developers of Timester, the one that OP was referring to.

We're not sure about where Timester should go from here, the feedback is fantastic so far so we want to do it right, and make the coolest live wallpaper ever.
What we do know is that we will improve it (sorry about the glitches) optimize it, add lots of features and actions. Your support is very appreciated.

A: Ce draguuut. Pentru varianta kiwi - precum spuneam - nu stim exact unde mergem cu el. Stati apropae si cand aflam va spunem si voua! ;)
Nu cred ca se poate adapta pe ecran asa mic, din motive tehnice. Telefonul trebuie sa "stie" sa ruleze Live Wallpapers, iar din cate stiu eu, cele cu ecran asa mic, nu "stiu" treaba asta. Mai sunt si o serie de alte aspecte tehnice, dar nu vreau sa plictisesc.

I can't find in on the market (running android 2.1 if that makes a difference). I have tried a direct market search and the link from the Timester website. Is there a link to an apk so I can install it manually?

Version 009 is out, should work fine on moto handsets now.

For people not finding timester on the market.
- First make sure your phone supports live wallpapers. If you already have live wallpapers installed timester should work fine.
- Try clearing the cache of the market app.
- Try again and againg until timester shows up, or write google about it, there should be no download restrictions for FREE apps.
