I'm currently looking for a (free) app I can use to go out gGeocaching.
The only thing is, my IDEOS is on 2degree and because we don't live within a mobile broadband zone, mobile data is too expensive to use. So, I need an app that has offline (or no) maps, allows me to import .loc waypoints, and is fairly accurate - the apps I've tried so far that have offline maps don't have close enough zoom levels to pinpoint a cache.
Anyone have any ideas? Free would be preferable, maps aren't required.

I am using a cheap Garmin for locating the geocaches, but using software on the phone for the cache descriptions, etc.

I tried out c:geo first, but didn't like it so downloaded GeoHunter and it's great! It does have the compass function built into it also. People seems to suggest getting GPS Test to use also. As I said, I'm only using my IDEOS for cache descriptions, etc and using the real GPS to find them (the real GPS is a lot kinder to batteries, whereas the IDEOS chews through the battery!)

I use the geocaching.com site to get a pocket query for the area I am going to be caching in (I think you have to be a Premium Member to do this, but have a go). This emails you a gpx file which I pick up out of GMail on the phone and save to the SD card. Then GeoHunter imports all the cache information and it is there available on your phone. :)

I use Cgeo and find it OK. Haven't tried much else though.

Try GeoHunter and see if you still use C:geo after that...
