Hay guys,
I have an issue with my GPS. I had it working a few days ago but now it no longer seams to locate any sats.
Using Copilot and it shows no maps and no gps lock. Tried google maps and it cannot lock on to sat. Installed GPS status and it shows one red spot but does not get a lock.

Used my wifes V845 side by side with N1 and the V845 has no issues finding GPS lock. GPS status app shows up to 8 yellow locks on the V845.

Nexus is not rooted, is stock with 2.2 from Vodafone.

Have tried turning off and restarting a few times, even taken out battery for 30min and restarted, still no go.

Has anyone had an issue like this?

Help much appreciated.

Take it back to VF. Your symptoms suggest the antenna is faulty - it's getting a weak signal, so GPS is running. If there's a setting on the Nexus that allows you to test (bound to be since it's built in at chip/service level) then run the tests. But I fear you'll simply be confirming what you've already found.

If it's still under warranty, it should be a no-brainer to get it fixed. If not, then I guess you're going to be out some bucks, but if it's a failure that's not due to abuse, VF will likely come to the party. Talk nicely to them though.

And there's a VF forum on GZ which is monitored by VF employees so you could mention your troubles there. It might elicit some advice on getting your issue resolved.

The Nexus One was first released on January 6th, 2010 so technically, unless the phone has an unlocked bootloader, every stock Nexus One on the planet is still under warranty...for at least another 4 weeks. :-)

Wow, less than a year? Seems so much longer - prolly due to the incredible growth in handsets and OSes.

Time to cash in that warranty though.

Have had N1 since May so yep still under warrenty.

But I have good news sort of. (After a very long night of reading and testing)
After doing a phone reset (had not done this before as I didnt want to go through all my setup again) it has kicked into life.
It appears after installing a certain app it had stopped working, I have read that someone had an issue like this before and simply removing said app was not enough to get it going again. I am not sure what app the other person had been using that caused their issue but for me the last thing I installed was Timester, the hampster app. Now I am not saying this is what caused the issue, not without %100 proof, but it is a coincidence that this app was the only thing to be installed since the last successful use of the GPS.

So where to from here,
I am going to set every thing back up as best I remember and I will not be installing the Timester app. I will also reinstall copilot and test to make sure it is not as you suggested, a weak signal.

Cross fingers and carry on, but at least knowing there is a few months left for my warrenty to make sure it continues to work.
