I did a search but couldn't find any threads specifically for Android 2.3.

What do you guys think of the release? I really can't stand the new UI 'design'.

It's like they changed it to give better battery life, without taking into account the design. The keyboard is just plain ugly.

Makes me want to stick with 2.2.

Do you have a link to where you saw the preview? Like to see that if you can point me to it.

Some great stuff for devs. Plus noticed the SDK now has some drag and drop functionality - just updated this morning.

I'm pleased to hear about the SIP intergration. I just hope it supports Auth user so I can do away with having to use Sipdroid.

I currently have LeeDroid on my Desire and just did an update check and I am being told that 2.29.405.2 is available. Am I safe to try this update based on my current ROM or would I be courting disaster?

Mind you, my phone was not able to upgrade to 2.2 using the auto update feature when I originally got the phone.

Theres a user manual for 2.3 here - http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2Fhy0dTu

Also theres some videos on the Nexus S page here - http://www.google.com/nexus/#!/index

You can also download the sdk and play with 2.3 live.

2.2 has an NZ option for voice search. This one's for overall UI language.
