Come on fess up, you know you did it!  You know you talked me in to the worlds coolest phone system and then stole my battery life to make me get off the phone and do something else!

There's a thread running on the best value (cheapest) Android phone but I'd like to hear from others about their views on phones with great battery life while also running all the coolest apps on the planet.

I'm currently using the wifi for my SIP client (so my mobile is a cordless around the house), now reading my email all from my phone and browsing a web page or two.

This is basicly meaning I need to take a nap at lunch time and give my phone a recharge (8150).

How are others finding their battery life?

What do you do with your phone and how much life do you get out of it?

I have an HTC Desire HD and the battery life is quite impressive. I have wifi on all day and it is connected to the internet all day as well. After 12 hours, I often still have more than 50% battery life too. I surf the web on it, check my e-mail and that's basically it.

Desire HD with a good battery life? wow

Galaxy S and I'm on the third day with 60% left. On wifi at home, with 3G only turned on when I need to check my emails/faceboo/twitter outside home or uni. Play games, like Angry Birds etc. So not too bad. Biggest battery drainer imo is the 3G. If you're on 2.2 fw, holding a power button down for few seconds brings up the menu with option to disable the 3G. If you're still on 2.1 or lower, APNDroid from the market should do the trick. :>

My HTC Magic used to give 2-2.5days per charge, now a year older and running Froyo its more like 1.5days, I now simply throw it on the charger when I get in each evening.

I have WiFi on all the time, beautiful widgets tells me what weather I am experiencing and this does seem to use a bit of juice. I get a lot of email pushed daily, plus a modest amount of map usage.

Yep, since turning on USB Debug (God knows what that does) the performance of the phone has improved 3 fold and battery life increased from 10 hours to 2 days!

So you have USB debug "on" all the time? How strange that this improved your battery life. USB debugging is for development purposes, allows you to execute commands on your phone from a pc.

The main battery life killers are apps that do frequent complex syncing (esp. Google Reader for me) and system processes or bugs that stop the phone sleeping properly. The full version of SystemPanel is pretty good at identifying which "rogue" apps caused your battery drain.

IDEOS U8150 owner here with a reasonable battery life. Can go about 24-30 hours before it needs recharging. Have Wifi on all the time for syncing mail, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Of course using Navigation eats the battery a bit faster. Skype is shocking at eating the battery! One day I tried turning off everything and it went almost 40 hours before it needed a charge.

Much, much better than what my old Nokia N95 started to get down to: 6-8 hours with Wifi and 3G data off.

I know, strange isn't it? I did a search on Google and someone found the way to better battery life. Without it on, the CPU is working constantly at 80-90%. A software bug I think.

I literally went from 10 hours battery life (of light use) to potentially 2 days of medium use.

I found the swype keyboard on my Samsung killed the battery by halfway through the day.

I really liked it too....

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
