Anybody tried this?

http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2011/01/weather-on-your-mobile-phone-now-with.html

Worked on my N1 but I had to go to the bottom of the browser page and go to google.com rather than use the default google.co.nz.

Also worked on my wife's iPhone4 but again had to go to google.com.

Quite cute.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

It's not the answer you're looking for, but in my experience the Google weather reports are incredibly inaccurate for New Zealand. I suspect they are out of date or from an unreliable source.

Stuff, the Herald and Radio New Zealand all have more up-to-date and accurate reports. Then there's the horse's mouth: m.metservice.com
