Hi All
A couple of questions, does anyone know what the minimum hardware
specs required will be for the new Android 3.0, and also how
difficult
is it to upgrade the Android operating system?
I am getting a generic Chinese 7inch tablet running Android 2.1, and
will be very keen to put 3.0 on it when it comes out as that is being
built with tablets in mind.
Are there any Android experts out there who can pass on some tips for
upgrading?

All the information about Honeycomb is not yet available but at the moment there are no specific minimum hardware requirements as such, it is designed to work on different screen sizes and will make full use of dual core cpus and includes hardware acceleration as well as new graphics optimisations such as renderscript.

It is fairly unlikely that a generic chinese tablet will ever receive an official honeycomb update, however there is a possibility that some clever developer will port a version for your tablet,
check forums at XDA developers for your device otherwise google your device and custom roms.
Bearing in mind the Honeycomb SDK has not been released yet, i suspect this is at least a month away.

extremely unlikely that your cheap tablet will officially get android 3.0 and there is a reasonable chance it wont even get 2.2

android updates have to be customised to each phone, it's not a matter of installing a new copy of windows on an old pc, the android firmware must be specifically modified and tailored for the specific device.
