I came across this interesting development recently about hacking of the Barnes & Noble Nook e-book reader.
Their colour reader, US$229 is based on Android but customised to present the B&N e-book interface. Some folks over at XDA (of course) have produced a software distribution together with some hacks, to allow you to boot Honeycomb on the Nook.

So for $229 and a 16GB SD card with a bit of patience, you have have a dual boot Nook - boot natively into the B&N software or boot Honeycomb (Android 3.0) from a SD Card.
The amazing thing is they have pretty much got a working version from the SDK, When the Honeycomb AOSP is out, they predict a completely finished port.
I see already hacked Nooks on ebay but since they are selling for $299 it's much better if you can to buy the Nook yourself and do the hack for free.
