http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Consumers/US-EN/XOOM/index.html

Been following the launch of the Honeycomb tablets with great zeal and am keen to purchase the Xoom.
Samsung Tab 10.1 was the other option, but the accesories and package from Moto seem a better package and also they seem to be coming out of the blocks of the honeycomb race firing.
Anyone know if the Verizon 3G network is compatible with any of ours? Or should you go wifi only?

Verizon is CDMA but there should be a GSM version of the Xoom available too

I'm looking at the Xoom or the Samsung (I'm worried that Motorola will have bootloader protection, whereas Samsung almost certainly won't), really looking forward to getting one or the other soon.

For me the choice is clear - WiFi only. Its cheaper and I can just tether it to my phone.

Yes Wifi only makes more sense but we may have to wait till Q2. Where to buy from, US or UK?

The Xoom looks like a pretty awesome machine. Here is the table with the different flavours. It would be wifi only for me too if I got one. Wifi hotspot tether the only way to go! A link to the original if you can't read the one below: http://www.androidguys.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/xoom_specs.png

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I think I would go with the 3G version because my nexus is so unreliable with data, and internet in general.

So we won't be able to use the US version here?

Not the version rolling out to Verizon unless you didn't care about not having 3G connectivity. Plus is it going to be sold directly or through Verizon with a data plan?

Guess I'll wait for the European release, although does anyone else think the silver back is ugly? I prefer the black.

The Xoom is apparently unlockable :)

I think I will wait until Flash and SD card readers actually work :), - but as they say 2011 is to be the year of the tablet, and in 10-12 months the bar should be getting set pretty high.
