I'm pretty sure you can download 2.2
off samfirmware.com

I was told by the Voda rep who sold us ours that it would be in the new year. He didn't say which year so I'm not holding my breath..

No, 2.2 is not out yet for the 580. I have the Kies software and it says i have latest version.

Just wondering if anyone knows when/if they will bring out android 2.2 for the 580?

Why wasn't flash built in from the starts?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 580 is an arm 6 device, so wont do Flash even with 2.2.

that will probably be right.

They had beta 2.2 out for this 4 months ago, but i've heard no further news.

I'd like Flash, but even just for app2SD 2.2 would be very useful on my 580. I'm constantly running out of internal memory on my phone.

Still no 2.2 update.

What does an arm 6 device mean exactly?

It means the arm processor inside the device is from an older generation so does not support the instruction set required to run Flash.

That the Vodafone salesman who sold  our  company these fones lied..  He said 1st quarter 2011.  I see tha this fone has gone from Vodafone's website so  there will be no chance now of an official upgrade..
