Pretty sure Fring and Nimbuzz are awful for battery usage and Viber uses push

Hi,

This is an official representative of Viber Media.

That's true - Viber is coming to Android, and we expect it to happen within a month or a month and a half.
Initially we intended it to be ready earlier, but as you know, technological developments tend to be delayed due to unexpected obstacles. We, as a company that cares about users’ experience, prefer releasing a fully-working product a little later than expected, rather than releasing it as early as possible, yet buggy and disappointing.

We'll keep you posted :)

Viber.

I'm not sure I fully understand your meaning, but in general Viber is solely used to provide a peer-to-peer service.
2 users who installed Viber would be able to talk for free (and soon also send SMS messages for free).
