Looks like March the 22nd if the sources are correct. About time! Really looking forward to what Amazon can offer.

So it won't be US only?

It's ad-based.....and that has a geographic feel to it. Would be pleasantly surprised to learn otherwise.

Yeah US for the launch. But they'll open it up if it's a success. Will be good to see what it has to offer. Hopefully they don't restrict the appstore view via IP. Although we can all get round that.

I don't see what they can have to offer that the Android Market doesn't have. The only thing I get outside market is Gameloft games. speaking of which they currently have 2 games for $3 nzd if you scroll to the bottom of their page while on your phone and find the link about free games.

All comments are my own opinion, and not that of my employer unless explicitly stated.

I think they're going for some exclusivity aswell. Angry Birds Rio etc. Hard to tell until it launches this week.

I got the email this morning from Amazon saying the app store was here. Tried downloading angry birds rio but of course only for US customers.... :-(

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
