Anyone have the following issues with POP email on their Android (using the defaut program on an X5).

When I download an email off the server (and don't delete it from the server - this happens when I download it to Outlook using my home PC) and then delete it from my mobile, then Android will simply keep downloading the message again and again until it is deleted from the server (by Outlook on my home PC).

Any way to make it download each message only once?  Very annoying little bug.

This is a limitation of POP, its not a protocol designed for multi device syncing. What kind of mail server are you using? Ideally you should shift to IMAP On both your Home Computer and mobile phone. Personally I use webmail on my computer and sync my email, calendar and contacts to Android via Activesync.

Hi all, I only presumed this was a bug because it never used to happen on my iphone.

Thanks

I have an HTC Desire and a POP account which I access from the Desire, a laptop and a desktop.

The notebook and phone are configured to read mail and leave a copy on the server.  The Desktop deletes mail from the server.  This all works as configured.

I can configure the phone to delete mail from the server on downloading and this also works as it should.

No matter how I configure my three clients, I don't get repeat downloads of mail.  I'd recheck your settings but POP works just the way it's supposed to for me and this is using the default client or K9 Mail.
