I have my heart set on getting the HTC desire Z (I want an HTC and am a sucker for qwerty keyboard so seems the only option for me :) ) - also it is the XT compatible version I am referring to in this post.
Very frustrating as mobicity is out of stock and has no date as to when they will be back in, I was going to by from Techbrands.co.nz as they were much cheaper than mobicity and ship from Christchurch (I am in Christchurch). But when I went to buy they were out of stock too, and now the phone has gone from their website altogether. I called them to ask about it and was told maybe a couple of weeks to get back in stock - but I don't really trust "maybe" or the fact that its not even on the website anymore.
I want it now! :( I can't concentrate on anything, new phone = too exciting!
The other option is to import the phone myself from gsmnation.com - the cost including postage works out pretty similar to what I would get from Techbrands and would only be a few days before I get it. But then theres the high probability I will get stuck with 15% GST when it comes into the country - which would actually work out similar to what I would pay when buying from mobicity... so may seem not soooo bad.. but then theres the issues of warranties and things like that and having to pay for international postage if it needs repair.
Argh.. don't know what to do, Ive been waiting a couple of weeks already, and I can't bring myself to choose a different phone :S

Milestone 2 is an option, but I would really like to try an HTC.
And I can't import from Clove because it would be the European version = not compatible with XT. I need the American/3G 850 version (which I can get from gsmnation.com )
I work for Telecom so not interested in changing carrier.

I know you can, the problem is they are out of stock, and they have no estimation of when they will have it back in.
