Hi guys,

New to Smartphones to please bear with me!

Have purchased an Atrix. Quickstart followed of putting Sim in, battery in etc now it comes to using the phone I need to create a Motoblur account.

So the instructions say when you turn phone on you will be able to create an account. However the phone says Sim changed or removed - you must log into Motoblur to unlock phone. I dont have the option to create an account on the phone.

So I go to the Motoblur website and start to create an account but find that I can only select as Networks either AT+T and T-Mobile (which I guess are the Us and Uk service providers?)

Outside of US it says all motoblur accounts need to be created on the phone, which I cannot do. So if I create account as service provider as AT+T (as i have the AT+T phone), then enter the needed APN's for Telstraclear will the phone be useable?

cheers.

Sounds like you need to preform a hard reset as the phone has been previously used with a different Motoblur account.

At least thats my experience with Motoblur.

Perhaps I'm reading the post wrong, but if the phones asking for a motoblur login and password (i.e. locked) then you can't do anything with the phone in terms of setting APN's, turning on WiFi etc IIRC.

OP can you confirm exactly what you can do within the phones UI, i.e. everything or when you power on, are you presented with a login screen and thats all you can do?

On powering up I get an unlock Icon and a volume icon - on unlocking I get the message below
but I am able to do (via the menu button) :-

I am able to set up APN's, make emergency call, set up WIFI etc.

I had set up my telstra clear APN correctly I think.

But it still tells me that SIM is changed or removed and enter account details to unlock - no new account option

New - but am pretty sure I should have a create new account option somewhere especially after a hard reset I would have thought, but who knows, thanks for the continuing replies.

Sorted guys thanks for the response - got it working - borrowed a mates WIFI - connected that way. Still needed to do a hard reset. Got hold of some guy on the motorola forums in the US who suggested taking out the SIM booting up and then do a reset - should have language and network set up - and hey presto it was all there.

Thanks for making a new guy welcome with your responses :)
