I've put this in the Android forum as it isn't 2 degee's specific.

How stable is your X5 and any thoughts and apps or settings that might be causing random crashes.

I've recently upgraded OTA to the most recent firmware. Whilst the wifi support is a lot better I'm seeing quite a few more random crashes.

In particular it seems that a combination of Bluetooth and GPS is a bad thing which is a real pain if I'm trying to use the navigation features.

Anyone else having issues?

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

I'm not having any issues after the OTA update, wifi seems better same as you. I do not run GPS and Bluetooth though so I can not comment on having issues with the combination. Just that in general I have had maybe 2 or 3 force closes since I updated OTA which is about standard anyway for me. Sorry I can't help you any more :)

I've had mine for a week, rooted it, installed the B160 rom and use SetCPU with max speed set to 1.2ghz.
Have spent the week going crazy in App Brain downloading everything in sight and it's been almost flawless.
I think the only time it has really played up is when I left it running at 1.5ghz after mucking around with Quadrant benchmark.

I've had a couple of force closes but that has been app specific rather than a general problem.

Summary - this phone is the bomb ! I can't believe how good value it is (new off TM for $370 delivered).
Give one of the custom ROMS ago, I believe they speed things up and do have stability fixes.

Well I took the phone back to the store and had it serviced. They reloaded the factory default firmware and clean some contacts and now it is rock stable.

Just done the OTA update to get my Wifi hotspot support back so I'll see how it goes for the next week.

For anyone considering modding their phone, Oxygen rom is the latest Gingerbread build and is faster than stock, clean and stable.
Would definitely recommend, stock is slow and clunky in comparison.

Yep Froyo holds these things back, they are a fantastic phone bang for buck... Go gingerbread and bump up to 1GHz and they are a whole new phone

I would also consider loading the franco kernel on too. I've recently discovered all these wonderful features through ROM Manager.
The franco kernel seems to just make the already snappy oxygen ROM just that little bit snappier.

ROM Manager is such a fantastic tool!!

the franco kernal improves the phone dramaticly. Better battery life etc. Miles better than stock.

I have found the miui rom with franco kernal to be rock solid and its so fast!

Loving my u8800 with miui :)

I found the Oxygen 2.3.2 (?) u8800 had issues with the SD card, which made the Market app only work occasionally. No issues for you?

Trying MIUI now. Nice, but I think I preferred Oxygen ... except for the broken bits.

I am back to Cyanogenmod. It seems to fit my needs the best. Almost everything is working with CM now apart from USB tethering.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
