..the switch between 3G and HSDPA ??

I have an Ideos U8150 and whenever the "data enabled" checkbox is ticked and the "2G mode only" is unticked the phone switches between 3G and H frequently and its messing up my connection , mainly in Messenger ( I use EpinePhrine from the Android Market).

I've tried the #*#*4636*#*# method , but it still switches back and forth anyway. :(

So right now I'm just using the good old 2G for connection.  Good enough for just messenger, but still slow.

Any idea guys ?

It depends on your reception, obviously you dont have enough signal with either 3G or HSDPA so your best to just use 2G otherwise you will suck your battery up real fast. Theres not much you can do about the signal...

When you say it messes your connection up what do you mean? going from 3G to HSDPA isnt the same as going to 2G if you know what i mean, you shouldnt drop any connection.

HSDPA is basically 3g. Your connection shouldn't drop when you drop back from HSDPA to "3G".

I think it does tho.
Because this happens when i'm in at downtown CBD, full bar reception.

It switches between H and 3G every now and then , and I don't talk nonstop on my messenger (EpinePhrine from the Droid Market)  , so like when i come back to check on my messenger 15-20 minutes after I last talk on it, I find that i'm disconnected  :(
And it's not the messenger because I've used Meebo as well and its the same thing.

firstly alot of those apps have the same issue although I would think the problem would be more a bug in the rom you are using. try another one or return to stock and see If it continues
