I have the 7 inch Galaxy TAB and wonder if anyone has the Gingerbread update yet. I am tired of checking Kies for updates but there seems to be heaps of info on the web suggesting that 2.3 has been released but when will we see it out this way

Thanks

If you bought it from a local retail store, I wouldn't hold your breath to _ever_ get the official update as the device has been completely abandoned already.

Put the Overcome firmware on it, so much faster than stock. I leave the 3G turned off on mine (wifi only) and even wifi is off when not being used and I'm getting a week of moderate use out of it.

I don't think it has been abandoned by Samsung which is where the update will come from. Samsung web site says Gingerbread for P1000 has been deployed but not sure when it will hit servers for our part of the world.
Just have to wait. Not keen on using non standard ROM as it will hold up moving to ANdroid 3.0 I rooted my phone and have have not seen a good 2.3 ROM that I liked where as the unrooted phones have 2.3 already

It doesn't.

There's a couple of people working on a port of 3.2 for it, but it will be very unofficial and could be some time off still.

I don't think there is any reason that the P1000 can not run HoneyComb. There is nothing in Android 3.0 specs that says it can only be run on dual procs so I would expect it to run on the P1000
Buy meanwhile I want Gingerbread
