Hey Android enthusiasts,

Tonight is the last official Androids in Auckland meetup, next month we will officially be the Auckland Google Technology User Group (Auckland GTUG).  GTUGs are Google endorsed (but not Google sponsored, aside from possibly the odd bag of swag), and I'm proud to announce that this is the first ever New Zealand chapter.  This gives us unique opportunities and connections with other GTUGs around the world (if you don't see NZ on the map it's coming...)

While initially the focus of the group will be the same (Android hardware showcase and software development), we'll be branching out into other areas of Google tech, depending on where the members want to take it.

Auckland GTUG will be predominantly focussed on developers, but we welcome anyone with any interest in Google stuff to join us and participate.

While it will not be an overly sales-pitchy environment, I'd also like to hear from any companies that might be able to donate any kind of product either now or in the future for competition prizes, presenter gifts or other giveaways, in exchange for mentions and brief advertising on the night - great advertising to a bunch of very enthusiastic geeks!  PM me if you're interested.

All welcome - please sign up to the old meetup site if you'd like to come so we can make sure we cater for everyone (hopefully it will be renamed in the coming weeks).  For those attending tonight - see you soon!

Thanks,
Paul
