I would be surprised if they'll do $0 upfront - vodafone is extorting large sums of money for this device even on decent plan - telecom may just follow it's competitors.

Although I am a Vodafone customer, it is pleasing to see that Telecom has finally 'got with the program' and isn't offering handsets that are three generations old when they hit the shelves. Their total home packages almost had me considering a switch to XT. Looking at their handset subsidy on the HTC Sensation, there will need to be a reasonable monthly outlay to get the SGS2 for nix.

I see on Telecom's website a link on the SGSII page stating "Get this phone for $99".

Assuming discounts etc are the same as the $1099 Sensation which can be had for as low as free (on the $100/mth 24mth lock in plan), it looks like they should retail at $1199, line ball with VF's pricing funnily enough :P

That stupid. Whats the point in having it at the same price. I must be missing something.

I'd say the ad I saw yesterday comparing XT and Vodafone speeds in Auckland on a Samsung smartphone, possibly the Galaxy S II, would be a reason. In that Telecom claims XT was faster...

I think they send it to you when the phone gets released. I could be wrong though.

Cheers for that - you'd think they would send some sort of confirmation - you'd be pretty unhappy if you'd got the email address wrong and missed out on the voucher.

I think Telcom are selling it from tomorrow.

I'm gonna port both my phones to telecom--for some reason, vodafone 3g service in my area is really poor.

The good thing with telecom , you can sign up for no contract and see if you like or not.

Yes, telecom are selling this now.

I filled in the telecom promotion webpage which gives $100 off this phone---but, I have no emails yet from telecom to claim this.

Has anyone actually received this email voucher?

The HTC Sensation is about $779 through MobiCity ($1099 through Telecom). So even paying the GST for the import, it still works out a lot cheaper.

I havent received it either, but DSE has it for $999, so the same price with the voucher.
