Hey guys,

Just got my Motorola Droid 3 yesterday (Verizon global edition), apparently it may be the first one in the country?

Anyway, I have set it up using the APN settings here:
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=67440

Preferred network mode: GSM/UMTS
Select network: UMTS Only
Operator selection: Vodafone NZ 3G

Web browsing works fine, I can send and recieve MMS.

However, when I send an MMS, to the recipient my phone number comes up as: 3108920511

I can send a txt message to the same recipient and it will display my correct phone number.

Any ideas?

I've tried searching on the internet for an answer, I can't find anyone who has the same issue.

Searching for "3108920511" suggests that this is number originating from USA -perhaps this has something to do with Verizon global? e.g. is the phone sending the MMS via the Verizon network?

Thanks,
Erron

My Fiance got a Motorola Droid 3 up to two weeks ago, and couldn't set up MMS until she found this info, it works now, but 3g internet still does not. Needs to be connected to Wi-Fi for net, still looking into that problem

Also the MMS has the same problem where it comes up as a random number instead of her actual number. But I send a pxt to her and and she sees my number, Must be the way the phone is.

In a way I was kind of hoping there were others with the same issue :P

Can you confirm what "random number" the phone is sending MMS from? Trying to think if it has any relevance to my number at all.

The number that showed was 00001725, that's all I know at the moment
