To be honest, I haven't been too worried. However, just this weekend my phone sent out something random to my e-mail when the phone was on standby during the night. Does make me wonder!

Update: Also, doing online banking on my phone means I really should get some kind of security solution!

The mobile platform app space is extremely dynamic. Apps are prolific, free, filled with ad-links, and we all accept the risk that they might deliver something we don't want.

The accepted practice seems to be only go where others have gone before (apps with multiple downloads must be ok....right?), and so far it seems to work. It works for Leemings too!!!

I'm certain we're working towards the point where Security Apps on smart devices will as an accepted part of owning one as it is on desktop/laptops.

In the meanwhile, like most, I'll look skywards and put my faith in the Cloud.

Oh no, I guess you have to expect the Norton parasite to try to infect your cell phone, and charge you money for it as well.

I use Lookout. (free version)
And I stay away from dodgy-looking apps (I always research before installing ie: google the name of the app and see what others have to say, don't just believe the market)

I'm pretty paranoid about that stuff (right down to having the google 2-step verification printed nd in my wallet)

i do have concern with mobile security. i use my mobile for banking, regular browsing etc. before downloading new app, i will go through all the comments/reviews to make sure that those app can be trusted.

i have used lookout in the past but my late milestone2 could not handle it well. i havent tried any security app on my sgs II. quite keen to have norton mobile security on it
