Had 2.3.6 pushed to my N1 and just discovered pinch to zoom no longer works in the Gallery app. Just wondering if others have experienced this?

Poor quality control on Google's part IMHO.

Why have Google dropped the ball because your phone has an issue?

I have a Nexus S with 2.3.6 and my pinch zoom is working just fine.

Have others reported the same issue? The only issue that I have seen with the latest updates have been tethering issues - which were sorted within days.

Well because it's a generally acknowledge problem by Google

I was idly curious if it only impacted the N1 and if the NS was affected and if anybody here had seen it.

Don't think they dropped the ball at all, I think its probably been removed to stop Apple's patent trolling, since pinch to zoom in the gallery app is one of the only things that the courts have seen fit to agree with Apple lawyers over.

That's not what Google are saying in the support forums and if that were the case it would have stopped working on the NS which it isn't.

If the Nexus One is the only handset affected then it's something about the older technology not having the same specs as the newer technology. A quick Google would have shown you that is the case and also how you can fix i:

Thanks for the link. But given I would have to install the SDK to do this, I think I will pass and wait till Google fixes it. While pinch to zoom doesn't work the tap and +/- buttons are still there to enlarge/shrink the image.

RRRR the current patent system seems to be hindering innovation/competition!

Pinch to zoom in a gallery app? Really?

I am really keen to know when the patent ceased for cars 'having 4 wheels and an engine', so that it allowed other car manufactures to bloom....

That is what Apple is doing, and in hindsight, don't we have better products now that everyone is allowed to build an automobile 'with 4 wheels and an engine?'
