Quick heads up about this update.

FINALLY my SGSII can read genre tags properly (previously EVERY player took its tag reading from the systems way of reading tags, resulting in genre tags being messed up which really bugs me as I predominantly like to listen by shuffling a genre! FLAC tags also now work properly).

Finally. The fact that there was no search is what kept me from using it.

Search? How many songs do you have on your phone?

Hopefully he has fixed the issue where the play function stops working if playing through bluetooth and the connection is lost, that got very annoying.

I'd love the author to include a "Car mode" display which does away with some of the less useful text in lieu of big easy-to-press play/pause/RW/FF buttons.

That said, I'll certainly give it a crack, I paid for the unlock a long time ago so hopefully it works with the new one.

I like this comment in one of Max's posts:
Yes, planned for PowerAMP v2.1, at least I will closely investigate all possible solutions for this (own BT socket implementation, or/and reuse of that closed API on motorolas and some other phones).

Just over 4000

Yes it looks like the BT lockup issue has been fixed as well

I have about 6000 tracks (80GB storage in my SGSII), so search is very welcome :)

Glee!

I can't find the "TODO" list, the link in the forum just gives me a "moved" page. I'll have a play anyway.

I assume by the BT lockup issue you mean where it kept the play button up in the task menu when you turned your BT player off (car stereo in my case) and the only way to get rid of it was to force close it in applications?

Yes, that's the one. It was the primary reason for me to stop using the application. I haven't found any others I've been completely satisfied with though. (And I've tried a _lot_ of them).

I like the swipe-controls of "Car Tunes" but it doesn't stop playback on disconnect, other than that it was ideal.

80GB!? Did you get the 32GB version of the SGS2 and then stick a 64MB module in?

Fair enough, but I only have 11.5GB of available internal storage and a 64GB module only has about 60GB of actual available space. I'm just being overly pedantic, it's a fair cop.

Had a play with the app anyway, very impressed, if it behaves with the bluetooth unit in the car, it'll be a keeper.

And the lockscreen actually works with the SGS2!

Thankfully it recognises the existing license key too.
