Ok this is an interesting one and I have no idea how to resolve it.

Brand new Galaxy S2 -

If I connect it to my Google account USB and Wifi tethering disable internet browsing locally on the handset.

If I just setup the handset and don't connect to any Google accounts then USB and WiFi based tether work correctly.

Anyone know a way to pull my Google saved preferences so can find out the difference, or know another way to resolve or analyse the issue.

Cheers

Ok on a second S2 handset I think I have a work around.

When initially setting up the phone I didn't select the load existing settings from Google and all of the tether options now work as expected.

I'm going to reset the handset and this time re-load the settings from Google and hopefully everything is now in sync correctly.

Ok this is now getting generally wierd.

Tethering on the phone worked as expected when initially powered on. I didn't register it with my gmail account so it didn't pick up any saved settings.

A factory reset and then load my saved google settings results in broken tether, both on wifi and cabled.

A new factory reset and don't load any saved settings, tether is still broken.

So what on earth is still cached on the phone even with a factory reset as I simply can't get tethering working on the phone any more.
