Hi guys wife just upgraded from an iphone to the x5, its her first android phone, its runninv 2.2.2.

when pulling down the notification blind theres no power contrlls for wifi and to turn data on, is there a way i can enable this, previou Versions of froyo had it but this is missing for some reason?

Also after importing Contacts they aren't showing in the contact list for some reason, can't see any thing I can do to get then to display, they are however on the phone cause when I go to text someone the contacts are in the list?

Any help would be swell :(

The X5 has a standard widget already installed 'Power Control'. Long click and add it to an empty 1x5 space. This covers wifi and a few other bits. Grab 'toggle data' from the market for the 3g data

Cheers,

You can upgrade to gingerbread rom which has pull down buttons

Maybe you just need to add/sync accts to contacts? contacts>menu>accounts

She had a old 3g iphone so its a good upgrade and introduction to android.

Pretty sure you dont have to upgrade to GB to get the power menu on the blind area.

Maybe so, but its definitely not a stock feature of 2.2, and it is a stock feature of 2.3, for the X5. Im sure you can find a 3rd party app to do it tho, its pretty nifty (i just upgraded my x5 to 2.3)

Smooth as actually. I read up that thread on xda, and was a bit worried, but worked out perfectly. Wifi is a bit buggy, everything else is the same if not better

Id prefer to have it on 2.2.2 till official OTA is released, my old p500 had it with 2.2.2. So not sure why its missing on this phone.

It's not a stock feature of froyo. The froyo roms that do have it are manufacturer customised (touchwiz, sense etc). It just means that Huawei have not added their own customisation to this rom, or at least not included this feature in their customisation. I have seen a Vodafone 845 and 858 (both manufactured by Huawei) and both do not have this feature.
