I updated to the new app a few days ago and since have noticed more often than not the sync icon in the toolbar and when i drill into the sync menu it is sitting there syncing instant upload photos, also my data usage has shot up by around a gig this month.

I suspect this is the high res photo support and that maybe it is re-uploading the pics off my phone, if it is I suspect there will be a few data cap overages amongst the ranks if peeps aren't careful

Anyone else had any issue?

I was horrified that G+ had instant upload on as default when I first installed it. It wasn't until I went to the G+ site and looked at my photos only to see a lot of pics uploaded via data, destroying my data plan. I was only glad that there wasn't anything shady in there. :o)

Given I have 3gb/mth i am fairly lax with auto updates etc as i struggle to consume even close to this each month so instant upload is no issue. It looks like it is replacing all previously uploaded pics with the full hi-res jobbies at 3~4mb/pic.

I changed settings to only update on wifi and turned off sync setting on android yet still somehow consumed nearly 300mb this morning. I have now deleted the google+ app and data consumption is back to its usual trickle.

When i checked the phone even though the instant upload was unticked in the AOS sync menu it was still updating which is a bit of a worry as it shouldn't be possible

I downloaded and noticed it liked to be online a lot but since I was only seeing what it was liek i uninstalled it pretty quick.
Likewise back to lower data consumption.
