Hi,

A wee while ago I installed CyanogenMod on the wife's Ideos X5.  Everything worked great till she tried to send a MMS.  It simply sits there saying its sending.  Same issue with receiving a MMS - get the notification, hit he "download" button and it sits there "receiving".

So decided to try the Oxygen Rom - same deal unfortunately.

Both the wife and I are on 2 degrees - she's on a prepay (plenty of credit) I'm on a post pay plan.  I have a HTC Desire (running CyanogenMod 7.1) so we swapped the sim cards.  She could then send from my phone so I dont think this is account related but actually phone related.

I'm now pretty stuck as to what to do - other than revert back to the original ROM but the reason for going to a custom rom was that she had no end of issues with data connections under stock rom (all gone with either custom rom).

Have tried all kinds of APN settings with no progress.  Tried the standard Android messaging app and Handcent (her preferred app).

Hunted through Google with no joy.

So does anyone have any ideas?

Ta.

I may have fixed this.  Or discovered the issue.

I have just been able to send and receive MMS using Go SMS Pro through the wifes phone.  Handcent still fails which seems to be the problem.

She'll be happy she can send/receive MMS messages (not that she does this often...probably 1st time in a year).  She'll be annoyed she has to use (learn) a new SMS/MMS app.  You win some, you lose some ;-)

I had issues with handcent and MMS's a while ago. Ended up having to go with stock messaging. Let me know if you get Handcent going again....

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Im unlikely to bother trying to get Handcent going again.  Go SMS is quite similar - have you tried that?

I'm usually running Oxygen and have had a few friends send me an MMS. I haven't ever been able to download any of them.
On one occasion, after trying a few times to download the image, every time I went into that person's conversation view it would just force close the messaging app. The only way I was able to remedy that situation was to delete all conversations.

It seems the IDEOS X5 is flakey when it comes to MMS. Or possibly 2Degrees related as suggested by others.
