I have just got a new phone - LG P500. I have never used a smartphone before so would really appreciate some help please.

I am trying to figure out how to use one of my own songs that is in the music folder as a ringtone. I have found some instructions on how to do this but you first need to access the sd card folder. I can't seem to find this and am not having much luck searching online.

Can somebody help please?

You'll need to create the folders first. Download ES file explorer from the market to do this.

Just create a new folder named "media", and inside that a folder named "audio" and then inside the audio folder you need three folders named 'alarms', 'notifications' and 'ringtones'. Then put your tones/tunes into three appropriate folders and you're away. May need to restart phone once you've created the folders.

Just download free app Ringdroid. Allows you to choose music as a ringtone, but also to edit a copy of the track to pick out exactly what part of the song you want.

Or you could just go into the stock music player find the song you want to select as your ringtone
long press on song which brings up some options and one of them is use as phone ringtone

When you drag down the top bar, there is a 'clear' soft button.

When you press the left most button (next to the house) a pop-up of soft buttons appear, then press windows.
