Seems like the biggest load of crap ever comes through internet advertising. who would pay for miracle skin treatments or believes that tv's and ipads really get sold for $50 and more importantly who pays for this low budget rubbish. Some sites such as this one and xda seem to do better more targeted advertising, but mostly it is just rubbish. I know it keeps the internet and my apps on android free, but sometimes I wonder how. With android in particular, I wish I could just pay for more apps instead of having advertising pay for it.

People pay for those ads because obviously they have a return. Like spam... Some idiots must buy enough to make spam viable.

As for the ads quality, if I see an ad that is obviously aimed at idiots (like those ones you mentioned) I block them. I share the sentiments with you.

How do you block them by individual ad? I also feel like I am cheating by using adblock on android!

who would believe that you could buy an ipad for $50? i think the lady in South Carolina last year who brought a piece of wood thinking it was an ipad would, hahaha. honestly though, there are a lot of not very smart people on the internet, just look how many kiwi's are constantly caught up in internet scams, and not just internet scams, i hear those people who ring up to tell you that you have a virus got a lot of people last year. my pensioner mother enjoys that call, she keeps the asian lady talking for about ten minutes asking her to explain how she knows that she has a computer, in the end the scammer hangs up. how many times does fair go have to run stories on scammers before people stop falling for the same crap over and over. shakes head and wonders if people should have to pass an intelligence test before a computer turns on.

I don't personally run any ad blockers. To reduce the possibility of people saying some of the ads on Geekzone are bad I proactively block advertisers that don't meet a minimum requirement - in my case "annoying" "scam like" are -10 points straight from the start and I will remove those ads if I see them or someone point them out to me.

My point was that some of these developers aren't that kind of people, that care for their customers. Actually some of the free apps I've seen wouldn't even be downloaded to any of the devices I have here, but hey, some people like them...
