I find on my U8150 which is higher speced than the 858 live wallpapers really cause it to lag.

Even the simpler ones seem to use up a fair bit of the precious memory.

Not worth it IMO.

yeh maybe why vodafone didnt add the APK?

i ahve rooted the phone so could add the better apk
like adsfree

and have installed live picker 2.1 fine.. it shows
the thumbs but crashes

i think its cos wallpapers.apk is missing
i found one apk but says failed to install
so i assume its not compatiable

just want to see if they could run even if very slow or laggy

maybe theres an alternative like animate gifs

having lots of fun with android x86 ics for vmware 7-8 and.or
virtualbox
i installed the apks and papers fine on that
and have a fancy earth and moon rotating.. looks very
cool on the unlocker screen

I figured it out and is working without lag..
was easy in the end took all day playing and researching googling to find out this
will tell in case others have this phone and want to make it better

1) installed launcherpro + (bought a pro licence as well)
2) installed root explorer
3) superusered the phome (rooted) superoneclick 2.3 i think it was that works with this phone
4) found wallpapers.apk and wallpaperspick.apk compatiable with my phone via directlinks
5) used root explorer to mount rw for system/apps and copied the files there
then mounted back as ro
6) reboot
now in menu selecting thumbs shows preview wheere can set

thanks anyhow

and of course install acircuit and earthrot live wallpapers as the best 2 ive seen so far and work well
on phone
