With my potential move to Android getting closer I am curious to know what you think is still missing (or in need of fixing) from/on Ice Cream Sandwich. Both tablet and phone use, and if applicable, from the perspective of an iOS user.

I'm talking about the stock ROMs, not custom ones.

From the OS point of view things are pretty good overall I think, theres always myriad things that can be better though and if I put my thinking cap on I'm sure I'd think of dozens.

As mentioned USB host support needs some work, but it's better than anything else there at the moment and most of the things that need addressing aren't huge issues for many users, so that's not a massive concern.

Lots of the shortcomings come down to manufacturers - their choice of hardware (does it support wide-codec video playback for example), their UI/OS skin (for example lots use their own bluetooth stacks instead of stock Android, usually for the worst) etc etc. Pick the device that suits your own personal use best and lots of this stuff becomes a non-issue.

Android Jelly Bean 5.0 maybe......

It's mooted to be released around June 2012.

It's described as having dual-boot Chrome OS ... So Google _can_ resurrect the dead.

That sucks!!! I want dual-boot Windows mobile 8 and Android 5.0!!!!

Small issue I know but there's no facility to select all in your email trash folder so you have to delete each one individually. Sounds trivial but you try deleting hundreds of mails one by one by one........................................................

I think it's a planned move to push you onto Gmail :)

Use a different email client, K9 Mail does this.

One thing that comes to mind and I'm not really sure about is WiFi-Direct.

It's in ICS and referred to, but it's not clear (to me) if it supports a WiFi AP connection _AND_ a WiFi-Direct connection at the same time.
The standards indicate connecting to an AP and a WiFi-Direct device is an optional feature.

Is the coding in place in ICS to support these multiple connections or does ICS become the limiting factor and only a WiFi-Driect _OR_ WiFi AP can be made at any one time.

Stopwatch and countdown timer applications, WTF Google...

Also ability to zoom in/out in gmail/email would be wonderful
