Just posted about the new LG Optimus 4X HD:

The NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor is the world`s only 4-PLUS-1 Quad-Core mobile processor designed for high-level multimedia performance but utilizes a fifth battery-saver core to handle less demanding tasks such as active standby and music playback. When running at full speed, the 12-core graphics processing unit (GPU) in Tegra 3 delivers a visually rich experience and console-quality game playability.

Equipped with a 4.7 inch True HD IPS display, the Optimus 4X HD includes 16 GB internal memory and runs on the latest version of Android OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Having owned two pre-Android LG phones (my first two phones in fact), I want to know if they are still using that heinous propriety connector. Put me off LG for life.

I have yet to see a LG phone in at least the past year using a proprietary connection. its all 3.5mm jacks for audio and micro USB for charge/data, and has been for quite a while.

The major phone manufacturers all signed an agreement about 4yrs ago to move toward a mini or micro USB interface for both data connect and charging, the primary push of this was to reduce the waste associated with charger dumping, ie a phone can be sold sans charger and an existing charger be used over several generations

Apparently the multi-core phones can use LESS power than single-core phones because each core uses less power...and the phone shuts cores down (or puts them into a sleepy-idle mode) if they aren't needed....
