So I've just installed a new kernel (http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-xxlpq/) that gives me root & CWM.

I opened the CWM app and asked for it to backup my phone, which it did - it rebooted into CWM recovery and then performed a backup.

I've installed ROM Manager which tells me I *don't* have CWM installed and then asks what type of Galaxy S2 I have. The options are:

 * AT&T GalaxyS2
 * Epic4G
 * Galaxy S i9000
 * Galaxy S2

 Now is it worth me telling ROM Manager to install CWM (effectively again)? Or should I leave well enough alone and just manually download ROMs, transfer them to the sdcard and then flash through the existing CWM.

Have a read of the original CF-Root thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399

Essentially, Chainfire installs a modified version CWM that is Samsung compatible and this may be why ROM Manager isn't detecting it.  "CF-Root/CWM4 is NOT compatible with ROM Manager! Manage/perform your backup/restores from CWM directly or using the CWM Manager application included with CF-Root"
