offhui: the question is: when?

Having experienced (ASUS Transformer) and read about (SGS2 etc) some of the half-arsed official ICS upgrades I am not in any hurry for ICS and Sense 3.6 on my DHD. This time I am determined to wait and let others be the Beta testers. Then when a stable, rooted stock version is available I will try it, making sure I have an image of my current version first.

I've tried a few of the dev's ICS roms of ICS and all are very good, most of the issues are caused by people not reading and following directions. The current ICS are very stable, there are still app's that need to be updated for ICS barring that all is sweet.

I installed this ROM on a HTC Sensation.

[ROM] Android Revolution HD 6.6.2 | ICS | High Quality & Performance | 3.32.401.105_R

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14192842

It was somewhat fiddly to install since it required rooting the phone, S-Off and also SuperCID setting to 11111111.

I am not sure it's all necessary but I did it anyway so apparently now I can install any ROM.

This ROM is super smooth and it even preserved all the settings I had with the GB ROM that was on the phone although I did do a Titanium Backup as well as a CyanogenMOD backup also.

I got the system update notification for ICS last Saturday on my Sensation. That being said, I purchased it from London and it's not carrier locked so this may or may not apply to NZ-purcahsed Sensations.
