Hi

I got a new work phone today, an HTC Wildfire S. I have been trying all day to set up my work Outlook Express emails to the phone with no luck.

I'm going into Setup Exchange Active Sync Account, I have entered my correct email address and password and pressed next.? The next screen requires:

Email Address
Server Address
Domain
User Name
Password

These have been entered in correctly, the next page is the Exchange Active Sync Settings which I have left as is to sync my mail, calendar, contacts etc. The next page is New Account and requires an account name, the default account name is Exchange Active Sync - I have tried leaving this name as it is, and also tried changing it to multiple other names ie. my name.? When I push 'Finish Setup' I get a processing screen that takes some time and ultimately this error message every time - Error failed to create the account, please try again later.

I spoke to a Gen-i contractor this afternoon who verified all of the log in/server details for me, so I know they are correct but it just doesn't seem to want to work which is really frustrating.? After speaking to him and trying to get it working for a good half hour, his only suggestion was to take it into a Telecom store and ask them to do a hard reset.? I worked out how to do this myself and have done it but still no change with the email.

All other functions of the phone are working, txt, internet, phone etc.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Do you work for Gen-I?

Have you checked with your Exchange Admin that your account is enabled for ActiveSync?

Does your company employ ActiveSync Polices?

Hi there,

No, but our company uses Gen-i contractors.

After wasting two days trying to get the handset to work, and confirming all the settings with these IT people, the contact at leading edge has decided the handset must be faulty, so I have arranged to send it back to them.
