Palm announces acquisition of Handspring

Well, looks like Handspring failed to deliver its promisse of revolutionary handhelds and Palm OS based smartphone implementation. Handspring will merge with Palm, and PalmSource spin off (responsible for the Palm OS) was approved. The design/hardware maker side will be renamed after the merge.

Flawed Palm T|C MAC Addresses in the field?

Apparently the latest Palm Tungsten C is showing a fault, where its MAC (Media Access Control) address is set to a non-unique number. MAC addresses are supposed to be unique in the world, but it's not happening with Palm T|C.

Brighthand reported about a rumour of a new Palm Tungsten W.. Since then the original site where the news were spotted came with more detail. And apparently they've received confirmation that a new Palm Tungsten W is on its way.

Infosync reports Samsung's new SGH-i500 is the very first Palm OS smartphone using an ARM processor, and the first Palm OS 5.2 device. Also: it has a camera with flash, 32 MB of RAM, and J2ME.
