Our Wellington Tablet PC User Group is moderated by Craig Pringle (blog), a technologist at Gen-i (now part of Telecom New Zealand).
He is reporting on the latest Tablet PC user group meeting, where we were treated to some interesting things... For example Toshiba brought in some Tablet PCs so people who doesn't have experience with these device could try their hand. Not only that, but Ian Westlake covered off the basics of Tablet usage, the TIP, Windows Journal, the TabletPC Experience Pack and the Education Pack for Tablet PC. In addition Ian talked about some of the Toshiba specific features including the supported gestures, their quick menu and the wireless configuration suite ConfigFree.
I learned a couple of new things on my M205 - I didn't know that the special Lock feature also activated an alarm. The alarm sounds if the Tablet PC is moved, and only stops when it is unlocked. Cool, now I know what to do when I leave my Tablet PC on a table while grabing another Latte. Also I found out how to activate the feature that allows me to login to my Tablet PC using a signature. And I am supposed to be the geek here...
Craing ran a demo of the latest MindJet MindManager Pro 6, just announced. This new version introduces digital ink on notes, and integration with Microsoft Excel and Vision.
