Microsoft and Sonic Mobility launched an iniative to allow Admins remote access to Windows 2003 servers. A package containing a Dell Axim, wi-fi AP, and the SonicAdmin software will cost US$ 962 (or US$ 159 if you qualify). Not sure if this will be available in New Zealand...

Radio Licence for Broadband Links changes in New Zealand

The Communications Minister, Paul Swain, today announced the pilot of a new General User Radio Licence for fixed radio links. The new licence allocates "public park" radio spectrum in the upper 5 GHz band for the radio links. Anyone can enter this "public park" and install the links, subject to the installations meeting basic technical requirements. There is no requirement for individual licences or payment of fees. However, the users of the links are not provided any protection in the event of interference from other users of the "public park".
Daydream Island to have mobile coverage from Optus

Interesting note: Optus is extending mobile coverage to Daydream Island. I've been to this island last year, for a friend's wedding. It's located in the Australian Great Barrier Reef. Very nice picture in this article (no, not a Pocket PC!)
TDK to release new Bluetooth stack 1.4 in June

Just a quick note about this: read that TDK is currently testing the Widcomm 1.4 stack. Apparently they hope to have the software released in June, announced during the Bluetooth World Congress.
