DoCoMo to launch 3.5G service

Most of us with mobile connections use 2.5G (GPRS and CDMA). Very few use 3G services, just launched in UK, Italy and Australia. But DoCoMo, the Japanese telco is already preparing to release HSDPA, a 3.5G tecnhology with speeds of up to 14.4mbps.

O2 reported a £9.6 billion write-off and a total loss to the end of March 2003 of £10.2 billion. The write-off is related to 3G licences fees in UK.
