I am upgrading to MySky and HD within the next hour - yippee Smile

I know that this morning's Spanish GP and Monaco later this month were/are not being shown in HD, so my question is, have any F1 races this year been shown in HD format?

Are any of the remaining races this season going to be shown in HD?

All the races I've seen so far on MySky HDi have been broadcast on HD.

There is still no HD feed of any F1 races, much to the annoyance of a great deal of people.

There have been some trial HD broadcasts in the past and was speculation F1 would go in HD in 2009 but nothing so far.

I haven't watched the Spanish one on Sky, but for what is worth, the first race of the season was indeed broadcast on HD. 100% sure.

broadcast or recorded in HD. I believe most are broadcast on SS1 or SS2 and are therefore broadcast in HD but they're just upscaled SD recordings. Not sure what the guide is saying but have found that this isn't always correct either.

Yes the guide, and even the Sky Watch magazine is not always correct. For example, the Kiwis match last Friday was easily not in HD as the S.W magazine said so, it was just upscaled as it was broadcast on SS2.

For the F1, I remember watching the only night race (Singapore?) of the year last year, and that was in HD. It looked great, even better than the NASCAR broadcast from sunday I reckon O.o

Where did you see it in HD?

There are no HD feeds of any F1 races as FOM do not broadcast their video feed in HD (and all broadcasters use the same single video feed from FOM). They had announced plans to move to HD but as of yet are not doing so.

It really is a shame - you'd think Bernie would love to see F1 in HD considering how important TV coverage is..

I'd like to correct, then, that what I've seen must have been a very nicely upscaled version of and SD feed, if no HD feed was available. If so, I gotta say I'm impressed by the quality of the upscaler.

I watched the HD Broadcast (I am pretty sure it was in HD as I remember commenting on the quality of the pictureand if I remember correctly, the guide said it was broadcast in HD, too) on Sky last year. Maybe the FOM tested the HD service to see the benefits?

Sky's reply to my question:

Coverage of the Formula One racers and how they are broadcasted are totally dependant on how we receive them from our Host Broadcasters from overseas. However we receive them is how we will air them, with almost all races in Standard definition.
