Does the new box have a coaxial output? I was hoping to run a coaxial from the new skybox to an aftermarket STB in another room. Therefore giving the STB access to the current channel that is on sky at the time, and it should also give all the freeview channels? i think..?

Nope, no coax out. Just got one of these new boxes installed today but had been using a third party box. This one lasted about 10 minutes. Pic is crap by comparison (split screen between the new sky and the old third party) and I have to pay extra for record capability etc. Straight back to the old box. What we did is ran separate cables from the quad output LNB to the other sites and installed 3rd party boxes at each. That allows transfer of the card to any one of those as required.

So the card from the new decoder works fine in the third party boxes?  That is good to know.  What sort of other boxes do you have it working in?

My Sky decoder was upgraded today, so I tried the card in my card reader.  But it did not work.  This is what pcsc_scan shows:

So I am wondering how the third party boxes read these new cards.  It is not at all unlikely that I need to change some config somewhere to read the card, but it is possible that it is not supported on the software I am using.

@bdgxxx Does your YH F2 box have any logs available where it might have information about how it is reading the new card?

I have got my new Sky card working in my card reader now, thanks to a very useful ticket I found on the Oscam site.

This is what I did:

1) Got the oscam-svn source code and modified the nds_atr_table in reader-videoguard-common.c to add the ATR for the new Sky cards, then compiled and installed it.

2) Changed all the settings in my oscam .conf files to update the card id values (caid, ident and port) from 096A to 0958.

3) Add a boxid setting, giving the hex translation of my decoder's box ID (which can be found under the System menu).  This is the critical change - it prevents Oscam from trying to read the boxid from the card, which fails as it does not know how to do it properly from the new card.

Following the instructions I've found here, I've managed to get a 958 card working, kind of. The only issue I have left is that I'll get about 1 second of buffering every 5-10 seconds.  I never had issues with my old card before sky carried out their "upgrade".

Are the new cards working as smoothly as the old ones for everyone else? If so, I'll have to figure out what I'm still doing wrong.

My 0958 card is working just the same as my old 096A card.
