I consulted the Chatbot named Dara (she may be real as speaks perfect English) and after turning off the box for 1 minute and re-powering it's all good. Who would have thought.

The good old shutdown, wait and restart!!

Maybe an update was applied and the box did not restart automatically.

Unusual to be applying updates in the middle of AO matches.

Hello again Sky,

It has been a number of months since I reported the following annoyances with the new Sky Box...

1) On the old Sky box you could position into a long recording (golf, rugby) by typing in the number of minutes to skip to in the recording. e.g. Typing 120 would position 2 hours into the recording. It would be good if this feature was added to the new Sky box.

2) Is there a good reason why you dull the screen when using FFWD/RWD/PAUSE? You also display the currently watched program in large font that covers a lot of the screen when FFWD/RWDing. If we are simply FFWD/RWDing then surely we know what we are watching so displaying this in the first place is redundant.

3) The blue "<BACK" on the top/left of screen while FFWD/RWDing is annoying as it gets in the way of scores / lap counts in various sporting events.

Do you have an update as to if/when the above issues will be addressed?

There have been issues where series linked programs (e.g. TV1 6pm News) suddenly disappears and therefore stop recording. I have also had a number of occasions where my recorded programs chopped of the end of the program. e.g. UFC Fight Night on ESPN.
I would be interested to know if others also have these apparently random issues.

My last gripe is that I see that Sky Sport pricing has gone up yet again. I would be OK with this if you added back previously available sporting content such as Snooker and NASCAR for example. I see a comment on your web site that you can't show NASCAR because you "Don't have the rights to show this in NZ". My question is if you don't have it then who does, as far as I am aware no one is broadcasting this in NZ in 2024???

Ross.

I think this was because "Series Link" is so unintelligent that 'imbecilic' would be a compliment
As I understand it, TVNZ changed the title of the 6pm News from "TV1 News" (or similar) to "1News at Six", and this was enough to throw Series Link off.
Sigh

By the way, I completely support your first three points, they grind my gears too

Apparently, if you pay the full price ($200) for the new Sky box, and you decided to cancel Sky TV all together, you will have to return the new Sky box as well even though, you paid for a product that is also an Android TV that can be used for other purposes.

Yep, I remember that from when I signed up to MySky c2011. I "bought" the box then ($600 from memory) as it ended up being cheaper if I stayed a customer longer than 18 month or so as I wasn't charged the monthly mysky box rental fee. 13 years later, it's worked out for me.
