JPNZ:
Its been 7 days, even after recieving an email saying the box was ordered. Live chatted sky today, no order in the system grumble placed an order with the CSR on live chat, should be here in 2-3 days.
New box arrived today, look forward to install over the weekend.

Well I've spent a weekend with the new box. Watched Moana vs Hurricanes in UHD, reminds me of the upgrade from 1080p to 4K on blurays and streaming. Definitely sharper and nicer to view but its not a massive step up. Glad to have it though.
Watched some NRL preseason, V8 supercars 1st round, some super rugby and watched some on demand content (that I've missed since they took it away). Overall very happy, didn't seem to find any bugs and some minor bugbears but thats just me getting used to a different setup.
Weird things - It completly changed my OLED picture settings straight off the bat and set Luminance and Contrast to 100% (this happens with panasonic by default when HDR devices are connected) so I had to reset the picture settings to how they were before. This only happens on the SKY input not across the TV other HDMIs. On V8 supercars I had a weird picture loss every 30 mins or so when it would black screen and come back immediately. Didn't happen on any other channels only happened about 3-4 times.
Things I like, BT remote, can press it from anywhere in range, doesn't need to see the box straight on. 64x? FFWD this is great, faster than the black box. I haven't noticed the need for the FFWD to desired time I saw mentioned previously but haven't needed to do a lot so YMMV.
Overall the hardest part is getting used to the remote button locations and the general android TV setup having never used it before. I'd really like to dig into settings for Audio & Visual but can't seem to find that anywhere.

Hi there, I had a similar experience when the box was plugged directly into my Samsung 4k tv. It’s like the box is regularly checking the Hdmi connection and sometimes decided the wasn’t compatible anymore. It only happened on one particular hdmi input.
But I only have three hdmi inputs, so resolved the problem by running the white box output into the hdmi input of the Oppo105. No longer any probs.
You are dead right about the small difference between the uhd and regular, but one ‘advantage’ of plugging the box through the oppo is that the oppo will upscale the input, if not already 4k, just the same. No HDR but.
cheers CD

Make sure the HDR setting is set to adaptive/match content, I think it's set to "always on" by default.

Mine runs through my AVR then to the TV. I didn't notice issues on any other channels so will keep an eye on it. Thanks

The only issue I have with the new white box is firmware updates. It updates, then is prompting something like ok. So it does not record any scheduled recordings. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks in advance.

I can confirm not to bother ordering the new sky boxes online. Did this last week for two boxes and received two confirmation emails from Sky. Saw the post from JPNZ and proceeded to live chat to check on the orders. What do you know, there was no record of them in the system!! No such thing as the perfect company, but this is seriously poor form. The agent took the order over the chat. I got the impression they'd heard it all before. Just FYI.

Are Sky broadcasting rugby in UHD now? Is this over satellite or only streaming? Do you have to pay extra for UHD? Sorry to sound so ignorant but I was not aware of this. BTW does the new white box have slow-mo yet?

Yes they are, some super rugby games, the NRL, F1, and other bits and pieces. No additional cost. Think it is via satellite for the Sky Box. There is a Sky 4K thread here on geekzone.
Yes, just found that after posting this. Thanks. Still want to know if the new box does slow-mo and works with the Sky Guide App for remotely setting recording.

No it doesn't do slow-mo.
Nor does it do "play this really long recording from 999 minutes in", you have to fast forward through to the place you want to get to
IMO, these are the two biggest deficiencies of the new box
No slow mo. You can remote record from sky go app or sky guide app.

I had no sound during the V8s just now, just during the race. I have the white box and don't have the dish plugged in due to app switching audio loss. Anyone else have this issue?
I tried power cycles, switching supported audio formats, different HDMI cables, switched to TV speaker instead of ARC. Nothing. Now F2 is on and sound is fine. I'm at a loss.
TV is a Panasonic OLED (GZ), receiver is an Onkyo RZ-710, all HDMI cables are certified 2.0.

Yep I had the same on the Pod, as did many other people judging by comments online. I messaged SKY who didn't help or acknowledge it at all. The HD channel had sound, the UHD channel did not.

New box crapped itself on the weekend whilst trying to watch a recorded replay of the F1 sprint race. Did a soft reset then hard reset. Left off for 1 hour, would only load to a blue screen.
Called the 0800 number and did a hard reset and HDD delete over the phone. Booted to the same blue screen. Felt like an android TV issue
