They get rid of the fluff and tack ons, make some savings. Then what? Do they stop producing high price content?

I'm a little gutted that they have expired the daily option, and I think $100 for a month is far too expensive. I have re-subscribed to Sky (for the Lions tour) using the SKY telemarketing deal ($29 basic + $10 sports + $10 HD ticket + $0 decoder), and at $49 per month I'm happy. When it reverts to full price in 12 months I'll probably cancel as $95 p/m does not represent great value for me. I see my Sky costs as a Sports subscription and $50 is about right. I'd probably be happy to pay $60 p/m for a sports only option, with a decoder.

So you were going to pay $45 to watch 3 test matches and werent going to watch any of the Lions games vs the Super 18 sides?

Would you have watched any of the Championship Series this year? Any other tests?

I think your words in 2015 were " I decided I missed the rugby too much to continue with sub par streaming options" but it seems you went back to them. You like sub par streaming options at a sub par price. But quality viewing at a quality price, not so much. Correct?

Anyone actually checked Skys HD service Resolution Lately ?.

Its 1440 x 1080i.. Not 1920 x 1080i as would naturally be expected..

Pretty much all there HD services (Except the FTA TV1, TV2 and TV3 are 1920 x 1080i)

Sky Playing there typical games again...

Completely OT. But I think that those people that dont know their from there are unlikely to differentiate on the resolution of HD.

The definition on HD is pretty broad. You'll still find TV retailers selling 1366 x 768 TV's as HD...... which they actually are. Just not "Full HD". Those retailers are playing there (sic) typical games again.....

Well they were wrong... frustrates me when people with a large platform don't check their facts.

$330 for 6 months works out the same as the old monthly price of $55, which would be fine except it's the whole cost upfront and there's no other option apart from the new $99 monthly.

Those changes don't come in to effect until 24 May

Previous price was $55.99. I know how you feel when people dont check their facts.

Oh woe is me, cruel fate how I see now the error of my ways. How could I not think to include the 99c difference, of course that is slightly cheaper

I should make another correction, the 6 month pass is $329.99 best not forget about the 1c difference. Wouldn't want to get my facts wrong

Probably as its just the odd month, the odd day, the odd week? Now they get $99, or the old price for a continual 6 months

I went back to them because I’ve had two kids in the last two years and am on a single income for a little while longer. Sky at full price was a luxury. Money has been tight and I have less time for watching sports nowadays. I chop and change my viewing habits depending on financial circumstances and big ticket events like the RWC and Lions Tour draw me back in. I think Sky does Sports coverage really well but $100 p/m is too expensive, IMO. I used Rugby Pass for a while and it was ok, but nowhere near as good as Sky. The $49 deal was too good to turn down at this point in time.

I'm sure that's what Sky wanted too. The $49 deal is too good not to do (I was going to get 2 or three full month Fan Passes anyway, and I will cancel the Sky after Xmas, so it isn't costing a huge amount more).

Where is this deal? Just checked their web-page and I came to the following:

- Sky Basic

- MySky

- Sky Sports

- HD Ticket.

Total $104.80 per month. WHAT??

Thats a huge amount of money, and I have not included Movies, or the Rugby Channel. Its also the cut down MySky box, as opposed to the MySky+ Box. Its been a while since I was a sky subscriber but those prices seem out of reach for most Kiwis.

Its sad that Sky have started charging an arm and a leg now for fanpass. I was using it on the odd occasion but now they have just left a sour taste in my mouth. I will continue with my Kodi/OSMC raspberry pi setup. The bonus is I can actually get the Sky UK Sports channels all for free, and I dont have to listen to that biased NZ commentary. $104.80 per month. They must be having a laugh each time somebody new signs up.
