BlueShift: I think that's a licencing issue - I hit the same thing when I bought the box set, I couldn't buy the mini-series, so had to locate it by alternative means - they didn't want my money.

Interesting; I have an old US box set that includes the mini-series.

foamfollower: Many thanks for the invite. All working fine on Vista, however Silverlight a no go on Linux. That is no surprise I know (why oh why Silverlight ?), but Microsoft redirected me to a mono page that has no content. May be worth checking.

Hi,
Will there be a Metro app for lightbox?
Seeing that silverlight will not work on IE11 Metro (but Adobe flash will undecided)

I'm sure there's a bunch of Windows 8 tablet users that don't want to go to the desktop tongue-out:P

Lightbox going well.  Just a couple of little things 1) stutters here and there 2) sometimes episodes start without sound.

I'm on VDSL2 and with Telecom.  Despite that, looks like I'll be needing me some Boost HD and yep, I'd be prepared to pay for that to make sure Vikings streamed smooth.

Edit: silly comment by me.  Early days and I'm sure these things are being worked out.  But I'd still be happy to get Boost HD ;)

Just got into the beta. Is the mouse pointer supposed to disappear when you're watching a video? It isn't for me with Safari 7.0.5 on OS 10.9.4.

old3eyes: Ok found that you have to use the invite login.  Also Chromecast from the Chrome browser will not work.  Plays  on the PC but on the TV screen blank with no sound..

Guess I'll have to bring home my work laptop with an HDMI port..

So... Invite login takes me back to sign up page, no sign of a 'login' button to login as myself and authenticate?

Chrome on laptop saved password and works, was beginning to think I went must and mistyped the password originally?

Do I just wait for the iPad/iPhone to authenticate separately?

Well, refilled the login page and got a prompt for the app... Silly me, thought I could use chrome on iPad to view but needed the app.

Now to find an I device that still has my nz login on it, damn Apples 90 standown between accounts (!)

No Lightbox app on US store (yet?)

Doesn't for me either but I can drag the pointer out of sight on the left hand side of the screen.  I'm on IE

BigHammer: I had no problems with the link. All signed up and good to go. Cheers!

me too, just had to copy/paste the FULL link, not click - time to geek up guys :)

very excited, great lineup.. now to see how it handles on my different connections (100mb/s fibre @ work and 1Mb/s ADSL @ home... hmmm might be working late lots this month :)

pleased to see old favourite "Heroes" on there too :)

Seems to scale well even on my home 1mb/s adsl cinnection.

Buffers when other devices do anything but basic browsing, but seems clear even via airplay on a 40" tv :)

you should be able to get around the 90 day restriction if you have not yet "purchased" the app as I believe the restriction is on downloading already purchased content, not new content.

I wonder if Unotelly/Getflix etc (unblock-nz anyone?) will support overseas access to Lightbox in due course. I'm sure kiwis overseas could get interested in this service if it runs endemic kiwi content ;)

would be hilarious.

In 5 years time:

Sony pictures/Warner Bros/etc: "Hey Lightbox, thanks for buying rights for NZ territory at 1/100th the price Netflix pays for USA rights. Just wondering how you managed to get 30m subscribers in a country with only 5m people?"

gotta find some way to fill the upstream of that southern cross cable! lol

ok, on dipping in I LIKE the range and quality presented.
Some great kids shows, good range of past and present content! (though would like to see Arrow, Big Bang Theory and Burn Notice too?)

Initial impression is GOOD, kids love it and thw WAF=9 at the content and ease so far...

some suggestions are:

1) keyboard key for play/pause (previous poster request too)
2) playlist to 'que up' a set of shows (e.g. set up 3-4 6min episodes of Thomas and have them play sequentially for the 3 year old) or
3) a "tick box" for continual play (once selected, episodes progress sequentially till season end)
