Just get an install with a different name at the same address. Have the sky installer put it in the "flatmates" room so you get some wiring done for nothing and then swap them around and cancel the vodafone sky.

sdavisnz: sky is sort of a neccessary evil if you love nz rugby.

but i hate there business. they run there business like a monopoly.

i wish i could subscribe to HD rugby via an online service through them but they dont want to know.

I know there is a lot of Sky hate here. Did Sky force NZRU to make it Sky only or is the NZRU the monopoly by not sharing it around?

She didn't seem too interested if we had the same family. But as long as it was a new account with a new name it should work?

I'll try that line of conversation tonight and see how I get on.

kharris: You could try ringing 0800 4 SKY TV (0800 475 988)

This is their telemarketers, not their regular consumer line, so they provide much better deals than sky can.

This is for new customers only.

My deal was a couple of months ago but I got:
$48 a month deal:
- Sky Basic
- Mysky+
- Sky Movies
- Sky Sport
It is for 1 year service.  The contract is for 6 months so you can change services after that time or cancel with no early termination fee.

I also added the HD ticket for $10 - so $58 all up.  Still a great deal.

Thanks for posting that, can confirm I just got the same deal. She included skywatch mag too.

Hi mate, just wondering if you called this number to get that deal ? 0800 4 SKY TV (0800 475 988)

I am thinking of signing up to watch cricket world cup. looks like no other easy options to watch on TV.
Thanks.

Yes works fine. Flatmate moving out who paid half is what I used when cancelling and then apply under a new name as new flatmate.

Damn, I'd like to do this deal on the flatmate trick.

Looks like its expired, no mention of it on the website. I found the original flyer and the deal expired 20th December.

Just my luck! hopefully another good deal comes up soon.

Thanks, did you cancel your existing account at the same time, or wait a few days?

I was a new subscription. surely you can ring book a future install date (say 6 weeks away). Then your flatmate can give notice

The fake flatmate trick worked. Got the same deal as above today. Getting installed later this week.

Will call and cancel our existing sky sometime next week. Thank you to the contributors in this thread!
