In case your Spark mail is filtered here's mine. It may be particular to my plan, caveat emptor.

It's super easy to unlock Neon. On 7 July the Lightbox app will change its name to Neon. The good news is you can use your Lightbox login to check it out. Better yet, Neon will be free until 28 July, and if you choose to watch more than three hours in total before 26 July we'll automatically add it to your Spark account from then on.

Simply log in to the new Neon app after 7 July and have a look around. Then, if you or anyone using your account watches more than three hours in total on Neon before 26 July, we'll take that as an 'okay' to add Neon to your Spark bill from August onwards. Better yet, it'll just be $9.95 a month (the standard price for Neon is currently $13.95 a month).

Not keen? Don't worry, you can cancel Neon through Spark any time before 11:59pm on 26 July without paying a cent. Either cancel now or look out for a reminder from us.

The initial free period and the 9.95 billed price will be enough to get me across the line I think. After that it's just a question of content adding to keep me. Curb Your Enthusiasm and Devs will keep me busy for a couple of months.. barring a binge : ).

good quality kids educational content would be good.

As I've got Sky not sure what value the new Lightbox / Neon  account would make to me. I  don't use Lightbox now and as  I have Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney I don't think I need it.

We're the same although I would love Sky to ditch SkyGo and just allow Sky subscribers to use Neon instead.

Does anyone know whether Neon carries content that is broadcast on Prime TV?

I no longer have Freeview and I miss some of the programmes that I used to watch on Prime TV such as Air Crash Investigation and Five Bedrooms.

Difficult to achieve indeed. You would need a complete communications blackout and/or absolutely no devices.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Last I looked you could join SkyGo without a Sky Account, this gave access to Prime TV content that is on demand.

Current:"

If you have a compatible device, you can download Sky Go and browse through the app.

To play content however, you'll need to be a Sky domestic customer with the Sky Starter package.

From time-to-time some free-to-air programmes may be available for Prime."

I posted on their Facebook page, they confirmed there will be an appleTV app, but disappointingly still no 5.1 surround sound. They did say "it is on our technical teams radar", given that broadcast 5.1 has been around for quite some time, I'm guessing their radar came from old soviet stock when the cold war finished.....

Did they say that the app will be ready for July 7th launch?

Heck no. SkyGo is awesome. Has heaps Neon does not. Would be a massive downgrade for me.

Being a former Neon and SkyGo customer (now just SkyGo), I have to agree.

Anything we need to know before the big day next week? Will Neon/Light Box see any down time on Tuesday while the merger happens?

I'll be annoyed if it's crushed by traffic and I can't watch it for several days ; ). I'm guessing they inherit some excellent infrastructure from Spark and it's not an issue. Anyway Neon has been running for a long time without issues should be good either way.

Lightbox never supported 5.1 audio. Does (the new) Neon?
